THE CBCA WA Branch is proud to support the Paper Bird Hot Desk Fellowship program.
Join writer and Illustrator in residence, Briony Stewart, in the Paper Bird Art Gallery as she takes us through her current project illustrating a children’s picture book due to be published later in the year. Briony will also discuss her career, having published 5 award-winning children’s fiction and picture books. Hear about Paper Bird’s new Hot Desk Fellowship, how to apply for a residency, and how we can all support local writers and illustrators to continue to create internationally acclaimed children’s literature.
The Fellowship is a partnership between Perth’s newest specialist children’s bookshop and story house, Paper Bird, the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI Australia West Branch), the City of Fremantle Library and the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA WA Branch).
Spaces are limited, so please RSVP for this first of the 2017 series of Meet the Writer / Illustrator Sessions at Paper Bird

2017 will mark the 40th anniversary of the Make Your Own Story Book Competition. What an amazing milestone! What an accomplishment for the budding authors and illustrators, dedicated teachers, supportive parents and hard-working CBCA WA committee members over the years! If anyone has any stories or comments they would like to share, please email Denise at email@example.com
Please become part of our 40th year celebrations by encouraging your children, students, friends and neighbours to put pen to paper and send in an entry. We await the 2017 entries with great anticipation.
Closing date: Friday 9 June 2017.
