COVID-19 Coronavirus Update 27 June 2020

Now that WA has entered PHASE 4 and restrictions are easing we look forward to being able to resume some of our regular WA Branch events and functions. Planning is underway for the CBCA Book Week Opening and Dinner and we hope to make an announcement soon so please save Friday 16 October in your calendar. As schools and libraries adjust to the new guidelines more information will be provided about our CBCA Book Week Grants Program when the situation becomes clearer and we hope you have some wonderful celebrations planned. We know how creative and talented and passionate about Australian children's books our WA Branch members are! Merchandise for CBCA Book Week is now available for order and you should have received an order form in the mail as well as in our June newsletter. Of course, you can also download one from the merchandise tab on our website.

CBCA Book Week Grants Funding

As you would expect, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted significantly on our Grants program for CBCA Book Week 2020.

Currently our Grants Officers are considering all the EOIs received and will be in touch with stakeholders – public libraries and creators – as soon as the situation becomes a little clearer.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Make Your Own Story Book

Our judges have almost finished reading and judging the entries. Winners will be notified towards the end of September. Non-winning entries will be returned via post at this time.

Winners will be congratulated at the Awards Ceremony at the Literature Centre on Sunday 25th October. (Invited guests only)

Sincere thanks and congratulations to all the teachers, parents, librarians and other folk who supported our budding authors and illustrators in their efforts.
