CBCA Children's Book Week® events include the following:
MAKE YOUR OWN STORY BOOK AWARDS PRESENTATION
An event acknowledging the winners of the Make Your Own Story Book Awards is held in August.
PUBLIC LIBRARIES PROGRAM
Metropolitan and Regional libraries in WA conduct events during Children's Book Week® including author and illustrator visits and workshops, storytelling and theatre sessions. These events are promoted to local schools and the wider community. Financial assistance for public libraries is available from the WA Branch of the Children’s Book Council of Australia in association with the Department of Local Government, and Sport and Cultural Industries. Public Libraries in WA are invited to submit EOIs in February.
Expressions of interest for financial assistance for Children's Book Week® 2025 are now closed.
SCHOOL EVENTS
Many schools organise events and programs to promote reading using the CBCA merchandise and the WA Branch Book Week Ideas and Activities.
BOOK WEEK OPENING AND DINNER
The annual Children's Book Week ® Opening and Dinner will be held on Friday 15 August to celebrate the announcement of the winners in the CBCA Book Of the Year Awards and to open Children's Book Week® in Western Australia.
